Azounieh Armenian National Sanatorium Board Visits the Armenian Evangelical Church

Չորեքշաբթի, 14 Յունիս 2023ին, Ազունիէի Հայ Ազգային Բուժարանի նորակազմ Խնամակալութիւնը իր առաջին պաշտօնական այցելութիւնը տուաւ ՄԱՀԱԵՄի Նախագահի Տեղապահ Վեր. Դոկտ. Փօլ Հայտօսթեանի՝ Հայկազեան Համալսարանի մէջ։ Բուժարանի նորընտիր Տեսուչին՝ Վահէ Գամպուրեանի հետ, Ազունիէի Խնամակալութեան Ատենապետ Յակոբ Լատոյեան նկարագրեց Բուժարանի մէջ խնամուած տարեցներու եւ հիւանդներու համար տարուած էական աշխատանքը։

Վերջին հարիւր տարիներէ ի վեր՝ Հայ Ազգային Բուժարանը խիստ կարեւոր դեր կատարած է Լիբանանահայ գաղութին եւ ընդհանրապէս Միջին Արեւելքի մէջ, թոքախտի եւ այլ հիւանդներուն՝ Պէյրութէն վեր եղող լիբանանեան լեռնային առողջարար միջավայրի մը մէջ հոգատարութիւն տալով։ Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցին (Կիլիկիա) եւ Մերձաւոր Արեւելքի Հայ Աւետարանական Եկեղեցիներու Միութիւնը (ՄԱՀԱԵՄ) միասնաբար կը հովանաւորեն Բուժարանը, որ իր 100-ամեակը 2023ին կը տօնէ։

Դէպի առջեւ նայելով, Ազունիէի Խնամակալութիւնը եւ երկու եկեղեցիներուն պետերը բազմակողմանի ծրագրի մը կը ձեռնարկեն, Բուժարանը վերաշխուժացնելու եւ պատրաստելու՝ հայերու եւ շրջանի ժողովուրդին իր կարեկցական ծառայութիւնը մատուցանելու՝ յառաջիկայ տարիներուն համար։

On Wednesday, 14 June 2023, the newly-appointed Board of Trustees of the Armenian National Sanatorium at Azounieh paid its first official visit to UAECNE Acting President Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian at Haigazian University. Accompanied by the Sanatorium’s new Director, Mr. Vahe Kambourian, Azounieh Board Chair Hagop Ladoyan described the critical work being done for the welfare of the ill and elderly in their care.

The Armenian National Sanatorium has held a crucial place in the life of the Armenian Community of Lebanon and the Middle East for the last hundred years, caring mainly for tuberculosis patients in a healthy environment far above Beirut in the Lebanon mountains. Managed jointly by the Armenian Apostolic Church (Cilicia) and the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East (UAECNE), it celebrates its centennial year in 2023.

Looking ahead to the future, Azounieh’s Trustees, along with the heads of the two churches, are embarking on a multifaceted plan to rejuvenate and equip the Sanatorium to continue its ministry of compassion to Armenians and others in the region in the years to come.
